ALEXANDER ROY

A versatile all-rounder whose rise has coincided with a breakthrough year for the Netherlands, Alexander Roy has quickly added international cricket to an already impressive domestic career. The 26-year-old right-hander, who bowls right-arm medium pace, made his ODI debut against the USA in June 2026 and has since become part of the Netherlands' white-ball set-up. His ability to contribute in both disciplines gives him a useful degree of flexibility.

Roy has already shown his potential with the ball in his short international career. His standout performance came against Nepal in July 2026, when he returned figures of 3/24, his current ODI best. He followed that up with another economical spell against Namibia, taking 1/8 from his five overs, underlining his ability to keep the scoring rate under control.

The Belfast Wolves' final draft pick adds another layer of versatility to their squad. Roy's medium pace gives the bowling attack an additional option, while his right-handed batting provides useful depth lower down the order. With only a handful of ODIs behind him, the ETPL could offer him an opportunity to translate his promising international start into a bigger role in T20 cricket.
