ANEURIN DONALD

Few young batters have announced themselves in county cricket quite as spectacularly as Aneurin Donald. The Welsh right-hander burst onto the scene for Glamorgan as a teenager, producing a remarkable 234 from just 136 balls against Derbyshire in 2016. The innings, which included 15 sixes, saw Donald reach his double-century from only 123 deliveries and equal the record at the time for the fastest first-class double hundred.

Donald has since developed into a specialist white-ball batter, with his attacking approach particularly suited to T20 cricket. After spells with Glamorgan and Hampshire, he joined Derbyshire and has become one of the county's most destructive short-format players. His 2025 T20 Blast campaign was exceptional: 449 runs at a strike rate of 169.82, including 31 sixes, while his 13-ball fifty against Yorkshire equalled the record for the fastest half-century in the competition.

That extraordinary scoring rate has become the defining feature of Donald's T20 game. He has also gained experience in The Hundred with Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets, giving him exposure to different T20 environments and tactical approaches. With the ability to attack from the opening overs and maintain an exceptional tempo, Donald's power-hitting could provide Rotterdam Dockers with a particularly explosive option at the top of the order.
