BAS DE LEEDE

Bas de Leede is the kind of cricketer who can change a T20 match with either a bat or a ball in hand which he has done time and time again on some of the biggest stages the format has to offer. Born on 15 November 1999 in Nootdorp, Netherlands, he is the son of former Dutch international Tim de Leede and cousin of Dutch women’s captain Babette de Leede, he has long since carved out a reputation entirely his own.

A right-arm medium-fast bowler and capable right-handed middle-order batter, de Leede made his T20 international debut in June 2018.  

His breakthrough on the world stage came at the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, where he was the joint-second highest wicket-taker in the entire tournament with 13 scalps, level with an England international across the event. He was named the ICC Associate Men's Cricketer of the Year in 2023, the same year he produced one of the most remarkable individual performances in Associate cricket history with a five-wicket haul alongside a century in the same ODI World Cup Qualifier match against Scotland, becoming only the fourth player in the history of ODI cricket to achieve that double.

On the franchise circuit, de Leede has represented Durham in the English county T20 competition, the Gulf franchise in the UAE-based T20 league, and a North American franchise in the United States T20 league. He is a genuine match-winner in the truest sense.
