Brandon McMullen is the Edinburgh Castle Rockers' home hero and one of the most exciting batting talents in Associate cricket. Born on 18 October 1999 in Durban, South Africa, the right-handed batter and right-arm medium-pace bowler moved to Scotland in 2018 to play club cricket for Stirling County and regional cricket for Western Warriors, eventually qualifying for Scotland on residency grounds.
He made his T20 international debut for Scotland in July 2023 and has since become the backbone of the national batting order, accumulating 787 runs in 30 T20 appearances at an average of 31. His ODI record is equally impressive -- 1,386 runs in 42 appearances at an average of 43, including a highest score of 151 and multiple performances that have announced him as one of Associate cricket's most complete batters.
McMullen led all Scottish run-scorers in the three-match T20 series against Australia in September 2024, a series Scotland lost 3-0 but one in which he scored 134 runs and drew widespread attention from franchise scouts worldwide. He currently ranks 36th in the ICC T20 All-Rounder rankings and has represented Hampshire in English county cricket, a UAE-based franchise in the UAE T20 league, and an Abu Dhabi franchise in the UAE competition.
Playing in front of a home crowd in Edinburgh, McMullen will carry the hopes and the pride of Scottish cricket on his shoulders -- a young man who chose Scotland and now gets to represent his adopted home on the ETPL's biggest stage.
