A young wicketkeeper-batter who has steadily made his mark in both Scottish and English cricket, Charlie Tear brings a blend of youth and growing international experience. The 22-year-old right-hander has represented Scotland at senior level since 2024 while developing his game with Sussex, where he recently produced an outstanding 2026 One-Day Cup campaign, scoring 379 runs at an average of 47.37, including two centuries.
Tear's standout international innings came against Nepal in June 2025, when he struck 80 from 72 balls in an ODI, while his domestic breakthrough has been even more striking. In 2025, he scored an unbeaten 317 for Sussex's second XI — a record individual score for the club at that level.
Still at the beginning of his senior career, Tear's development across county and international cricket makes him an exciting prospect. His ability to keep wicket while batting in the top order adds flexibility, and his recent form suggests he is ready to take another step forward in T20 cricket.
Charlie represents Edinburgh Castle Rockers in the European T20 Premier League. Originally from Scotland, Charlie brings international experience and flair to every match.
With a career batting average of 16.12 and a strike rate of 102.38, Charlie has been one of the most consistent run-scorers in the competition, accumulating 129 runs.
