A Hampshire stalwart whose career has been built almost entirely around white-ball cricket, Chris Wood has become one of the most prolific T20 bowlers in English domestic cricket. The left-arm seamer has spent his entire professional career with Hampshire, where he is the club's leading T20 wicket-taker and has been part of three T20 title-winning sides, including the 2022 Vitality Blast triumph. His ability to swing the new ball, hit the yorker and use slower variations has made him a particularly effective short-format bowler.

Wood's T20 journey has also taken him beyond the county game, with spells for London Spirit and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, Northern Warriors and Gulf Giants in franchise cricket. His 2022 Vitality Blast campaign was particularly memorable, with 21 wickets as Hampshire lifted the title, including the crucial dismissal of Phil Salt in the final. By 2025, he had surpassed 200 T20 wickets for his career, underlining the longevity of his impact in the format.
