Daryl Mitchell has proven himself to be one of New Zealand’s most reliable white-ball cricketers, with the power, composure and adaptability to thrive in all situations. Mitchell is a naturally aggressive right-hand batsman and a more than capable seam-bowling all-rounder. He is famous for bringing his best on the biggest stages of the game.

Mitchell, who was born in Hamilton, New Zealand on May 20, 1991, made his international debut in 2019 and quickly became a fixture in the Black Caps' white-ball side. Since then, he has developed into one of the world’s most dependable middle-order batters, known for his ability to produce match-winning innings under pressure. 

Mitchell’s breakthrough in T20 cricket came during the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup where he was promoted to open the batting and was an important part of New Zealand’s run to the final. His unbeaten 72 against England in the semi-final is still one of the country’s best T20 World Cup innings, while another vital half-century took New Zealand to the semi-finals of the 2022 edition.

His success has translated seamlessly to franchise cricket where he has been part of top T20 competitions across the world including the IPL with Chennai. Mitchell has been just as good against pace and spin and has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to adapt to different conditions and perform in high-pressure situations.
