GARETH DELANY

A naturally aggressive batter who can also turn his arm over with useful leg-spin, Gareth Delany has developed into one of Ireland's most versatile T20 players. The Dublin-born all-rounder made his T20I debut in 2019 and has since become a regular feature of Ireland's white-ball set-up, while also gaining experience with teams including Leinster Lightning, Leicestershire and Northern Warriors. His ability to contribute in multiple disciplines gives him the flexibility to influence a game in different ways.

Delany's attacking instincts have produced some memorable international performances. He struck an unbeaten 89 against Oman in 2019, which remains his highest T20I score, while his leg-spin has also provided important breakthroughs, including career-best T20I figures of 3/16 against the West Indies. More recently, he showed his continued ability to perform against top opposition with a 49 off 32 balls against India in Belfast in June 2026, alongside figures of 1/3 with the ball.

For Edinburgh Castle Rockers, Delany offers a valuable blend of aggression and adaptability. Capable of attacking from the middle order while providing a genuine bowling option, he can give the Rockers flexibility with their combinations and another player capable of changing the momentum of a T20 match in a short burst.
