From making his international debut as a teenager to becoming one of the world's most sought-after T20 fast bowlers, Josh Little's rise has been nothing short of remarkable. A product of Ireland's emerging generation of seam bowlers, the Dublin-born quick has established himself as a proven performer in T20 cricket, earning recognition on both the international and franchise circuits.
Little, who was born on 1 November 1999, made his T20I debut for Ireland before he was 17 and has slowly become the leader of the country’s pace attack. But his breakout year came in 2022 when he took 39 T20I wickets, second highest by any bowler in the world in that calendar-year, and became the first Irish player to be named in the ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year.
Little’s defining moment on the international stage came at the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup where he became only the sixth bowler in tournament history to take a hat-trick. His feats against some of the strongest batting line-ups in the world demonstrated his capacity to perform in high-pressure situations and solidified his status as one of the leading left-arm pacemen in the format.
His performances have brought him chances across the franchise circuit, turning out for Gujarat Titans in the IPL, while he has also had stints in the Pakistan Super League, ILT20, Major League Cricket and The Hundred. Still in his twenties, Little continues to develop into one of the most in-demand fast bowlers in the shortest format, bringing genuine wicket-taking threat and invaluable international experience for the Dublin Guardians.
