Mark Chapman's cricket journey is unlike almost anyone else's. Having represented both Hong Kong and New Zealand at international level, the elegant left-hander has successfully reinvented himself into one of the Blackcaps' most dependable white-ball batters, earning a reputation for delivering composed innings under pressure while possessing the range of strokes to dominate the closing overs.

Chapman first grabbed global attention in 2015 when he became one of the few players to score a century on ODI debut, smashing an unbeaten 124 for Hong Kong against the UAE after flying more than 20 hours from New Zealand following university examinations. Soon afterwards, he committed his future to New Zealand, where consistent performances for Auckland in both the Super Smash and Ford Trophy opened the door to international cricket with the Blackcaps. 

Chapman has developed into one of the team's most dependable middle-order hitters since making his New Zealand debut in 2018. Several noteworthy efforts, including an undefeated century against Pakistan and game-winning knocks against South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan in both ODI and T20 cricket, have resulted from his ability to counter spin, rotate the strike, and accelerate late. He has amassed over 4,500 runs in more than 200 career T20 matches while playing internationally and franchises in New Zealand, Pakistan, England, the Caribbean, and the United States, demonstrating his versatility in a wide range of circumstances and games.
