MUHAMMAD WASEEM

As one of the most powerful opening batsmen in Associate cricket, Muhammad Waseem has raised the bar for T20 batting for the United Arab Emirates. Waseem is one of the most dangerous top-order hitters in the shortest format because he is an aggressive right-hander who excels in the powerplay and combines bold strikes with exceptional consistency.

Waseem, who was born in Multan, Pakistan, on February 12, 1994, relocated to the United Arab Emirates before starting his international career that changed the batting fortunes of the nation. He has become the backbone of the UAE's white-ball team since making his T20I debut in 2021. He captains the national team and consistently delivers game-winning performances.

In just 99 games as of mid-2026, Waseem has gathered almost 3,300 T20 International runs at an average above 36 and a strike rate above 150, including 26 half-centuries and three centuries. In the ICC Men's T20I Batting Rankings, he has also risen as high as No. 5, demonstrating his standing as one of the top T20 batsmen in the world. Due to his achievements, he has been able to represent teams in the Major League Cricket, Bangladesh Premier League, Pakistan Super League, and International League T20.

Waseem is the benchmark in modern-day UAE cricket because of his bold strategy at the top of the order.
