PAUL STIRLING

Few batters have been as influential to the rise of Irish cricket as Paul Stirling. A powerful right-hander capable of taking an innings away from an opposition in a matter of overs, Stirling has been Ireland's leading run-scorer across all formats and one of the most experienced players in Associate and Full Member cricket. He became Ireland's permanent white-ball captain in 2023, having already established himself as one of the country's most recognisable international cricketers.

Stirling's record at the top of the order is built around aggression and consistency. His international career includes more than 10,000 runs, while his T20I tally stands at 3,895 runs, including 24 half-centuries and a century. His highest T20I score of 115* came against Zimbabwe in 2021, while his ODI career includes a remarkable 177 against Canada. He is also one of the few players to have scored an international century in all three formats.

Stirling represents far more than an explosive opening option for Belfast Wolves. His experience across international cricket and major franchise competitions gives the Wolves a player who understands how to manage the rhythm of a T20 innings, whether that means attacking from the outset or taking responsibility for a longer stay at the crease. His leadership and ability to read the game could be just as valuable as his power with the bat as the Wolves enter the inaugural ETPL season.
