SAFYAAN SHARIF

A veteran of Scotland's white-ball attack, Safyaan Sharif has been a constant presence in the country's international set-up for more than a decade. The Huddersfield-born right-arm fast-medium bowler made his ODI debut against the Netherlands in 2011, taking an immediate 4/27, and has since built a reputation as a dependable seam option capable of operating with both the new ball and at the death.

Sharif's ability to deliver on the biggest occasions was underlined during Scotland's 2014 World Cup Qualifier campaign, where he claimed 14 wickets to help his side secure qualification for the 2015 World Cup. Four years later, he produced perhaps the defining performance of his international career, taking 5/33 against Zimbabwe in the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier and earning Player of the Match honours. He has also remained a significant contributor in T20 cricket, reaching 87 T20I wickets for Scotland.
