SCOTT EDWARDS

Scott Edwards is the Amsterdam Flames' hometown hero and one of the most important figures in Netherlands cricket history. Born on 23 August 1996 in Tonga to Australian parents, Edwards qualifies for the Netherlands via his grandmother's Dutch heritage. He committed to the country so fully that he relocated there permanently and even tattooed a Dutch lion on his ankle.

He served as the Netherlands captain from 2022 to 2026 and led the side in two of the most celebrated results in Dutch cricketing history - victories over South Africa at both the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup and the 2023 ICC Men's ODI World Cup. Under his captaincy, the Netherlands have consistently punched above their weight on the global stage.

Behind the stumps, he is sharp, reliable and inventive. His glovework has produced some of the cleanest stumping and catching in European cricket over the past three seasons.

Edwards has also competed in the Australian domestic T20 competition as a replacement signing, as well as appearing for Victorian state cricket, which has given him invaluable experience against high-quality bowling attacks and helped elevate his game.
