A powerful left-handed batter with the ability to contribute with the ball, Sean Solia has spent almost a decade establishing himself as a key figure in Auckland cricket. The 33-year-old all-rounder made his List A debut in spectacular fashion in 2017, smashing 152 from 127 balls against Northern Districts, and has since become a consistent performer across New Zealand's domestic competitions. His first-class record also includes a career-best 206 and 106 wickets, highlighting the depth of his all-round ability.
Solia's aggressive approach has been particularly effective in white-ball cricket, where his ability to score quickly can change the momentum of an innings. He also enjoyed a memorable Super Smash performance against Otago in 2022, rescuing Auckland from 26/6 with an unbeaten 67 to guide them to victory with two balls remaining. His performances eventually earned him international recognition with Samoa, for whom he made his T20I debut in 2025 and has since registered a best score of 74.
For Edinburgh Castle Rockers, Solia offers valuable experience and flexibility. A naturally attacking batter who can also provide a seam-bowling option, he gives the Rockers another player capable of contributing in multiple areas and changing the course of a T20 match through aggressive strokeplay or useful overs.
