Trent Boult is one of the greatest left-arm fast bowlers of the T20 era and remains one of the most potent new-ball threats in franchise cricket anywhere in the world. Born on 22 July 1989 in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, the 6'2" left-armer has spent the better part of fifteen years terrorising opening batsmen with his ability to swing the ball both ways at genuine pace.
Boult made his New Zealand debut in 2011 and went on to play 61 T20 internationals for his country, taking 83 wickets at an average of 21.43 and an economy of 7.68, with a best of 4 for 13. He was New Zealand's second-highest wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history, forming one of the most celebrated new-ball partnerships in the format alongside Tim Southee, the pair taking a combined 49 powerplay wickets across the 44 T20I appearances they made together. In 2024, after playing his final T20 World Cup game for New Zealand, Boult announced his retirement from international cricket to focus entirely on franchise leagues.
On the franchise circuit, Boult has been nothing short of exceptional. Across 125 appearances in India's domestic T20 league, he has taken 145 wickets and holds the record for the most wickets taken in the first over of an innings in that competition. His standout season came in the 2025 edition with a Mumbai-based franchise, where he was the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 22 scalps. He has also won two domestic T20 league titles in India and featured across leagues in the UAE and Pakistan.
The Rockers' most dangerous weapon with the new ball, Boult's first over in any given match is an event in itself.
Trent represents Edinburgh Castle Rockers in the European T20 Premier League. Originally from New Zealand, Trent brings international experience and flair to every match.
With a career batting average of 11.33 and a strike rate of 117.24, Trent has been one of the most consistent run-scorers in the competition, accumulating 374 runs.
As a bowler, Trent has claimed 356 wickets at an average of 26.37 with best figures of 4/13.
